Standards and specifications for educational content can be difficult to understand and even harder to apply effectively, especially in a world
where user-generated content and Web 2.0 tools are currently exploding.
With the ASPECT workshop you will be able to:
- Understand how existing and emerging standards and specifications can best be applied to content aimed at schools
- Learn and test how your own content complies with a range of standards
- Discover how standards can be combined in order to improve content interoperability
14:00-14:40 - Learning technology standards: a state of the art review by David Massart, Lars Ingesman, UNI-C, EUN and ASPECT partners
- Introduction to learning technology standards (why do we need them, benefits, etc.)
- State of the art (CC, SCORM, Metadata, Vocabularies, etc.) and the future of standards
- What has been achieved? (adoption, case studies, success stories, etc.)
- Demonstration: the LRE Service Centre, How does it work? From creation of contents to delivery: the ASPECT tools in action.
14:50-15:10 - How do we use standards? Testimonies from the actors with representatives from three key stakeholders
